Alexander Dugin si ideologia eurasiatica
Russia has been playing the "Orthodox" and the far-right card in Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, Ukraine, etc, for some time, but of course in the current crisis it is of greater concern. Dugin is is a political scientist, traditionalist, pan-Slavist and one of the most popular ideologists of the creation of a Eurasian empire against "North Atlantic interests" and liberalism. Many in Russia consider him as a fascist with ties to the Kremlin and Russian military. Dugin serves is also an adviser to State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin, the leader of Putin's party in the Duma, and is the head of the Department of Sociology of International Relations of Moscow State University .

Dugin was the leading organizer of the National Bolshevik Party, the National Bolshevik Front, and Eurasia Party which harbor fascist and anti-semitic views. He works for the restoration of the Russian Empire through the partitioning of the former Soviet republics, such as Georgia and Ukraine, and the unification with Russian-speaking territories, in particular Eastern Ukraine. His views are expouned in "Foundations of Geopolitics" and "The Fourth Political Theory". Seehttp://www.4pt.su/

Dugin has been labeled the brain behind the annexation of Crimea. In 2008, before Russia invaded Georgia, Dugin proclaimed: "Our troops will occupy the Georgian capital Tbilisi, the entire country, and perhaps even Ukraine and the Crimean Peninsula, which is historically part of Russia anyway.”

As a founder of Russia’s Eurasia Party, Dugin’s political outlook is based around anti-liberalism, anti-Americanism, and a return to Russian imperialism. The Eurasianism ideology, developed among the Russian émigré community during the 1920s, regards Russia as having closer links to Asia than Europe or the rest of the West. Dugin wants to see the formation of a new Eurasian empire that will include every state from the former Soviet Union, as well as extending into other Asian countries.

Through the creation of this new global force, Dugin says, Russia would ultimately be at the helm of a new world pole, creating a superpower that would match America's influence. “It is very important to regard what is going on in Ukraine in this context,” he told me. “It is not Russians against Ukrainians—it is the defender of multi-polarity, in Putin and Moscow, against the ideas of uni-polarity, represented by America and the West.”

Dugin believes that Russia is currently undergoing a “conservative revolution” that will see any liberal traits extinguished and a new ideologically-driven land emerge under Putin. This shift will deliver a centralized state where the Russian population will be under the ultimate control of the government and have some of its civil liberties removed, as under Soviet rule. He believes in a conservative revolution supported by a cultural revolution that will see the elimination of all liberal components in Russian culture.

Eastern European countries that feel threatened by Russian nationalism and expansionism would do well not to welcome Dugin in their country.
